Why this trip
Sandstone that looks as if chiselled by hand, and a stillness that is hard to find in Europe: AlUla in the north-west of Saudi Arabia is a destination for teams looking for an offsite with substance. Nabataean tombs and rock arches form a backdrop that changes conversations. AlUla Fort and the viewpoint above it give groups a view of the oasis, a programme item for the evening when the light turns soft. The old town and the AlUla Oasis suit a quiet morning on foot.
For accommodation, the selection names, among others, the Ashar Tented Resort and Dar Tantora The House Hotel, both properties that include the place in the accommodation. October to April is the best time according to the country information. On entry it states: eVisa or visa on arrival, please check, and the flight time is approx. 6 hrs.
Jeddah, Red Sea Global and Riyadh are neighbours for a combination, although distances in the country are large. A video call clarifies whether one location is enough, and the quote sets out times and responsibilities.
