Why this trip
If you associate Marbella only with glamour, you overlook the old town with its flower-decked lanes and the long beaches where children play for hours. On the Costa del Sol the town is more relaxed than its reputation suggests. A morning in the old town, with fountains, small squares and an ice cream, is a good start for children. The beach promenade is good for walking or cycling, and on the beach you can build castles as long as it is not yet too hot.
Puerto Banús offers harbour atmosphere and can be planned as an evening stroll with a view of the boats, as long as the children are still awake. In between, plan enough time for the siesta so that the evening stays relaxed.
