Why this trip
Anyone who thinks of snow first when they hear Alpe d'Huez overlooks the summer: from May to June and in September and October the village in the Isère shows itself as a sunny mountain terrace. For couples who want nature rather than sea, this is an unusual setting for a honeymoon. The ski area is known for the Sarenne descent, which in summer becomes a hiking trail with a view. The Hotel Le Castillan and the Hôtel Chalet Mounier with restaurant and spa are places where retreat is combined with warmth and wood.
After a day outdoors there is time for the spa and a long dinner. Val Thorens, Courchevel, Val d'Isère and Chamonix are in the neighbourhood and stand more for winter and the season. If you are planning a winter honeymoon, you should discuss it separately, as the times outside May to October look different. The language is French.
Whether mountains or sea suit you better can be settled on the video call, before a place is fixed.
Getting there
The flight starts from Zurich or Basel-Mulhouse, and Honeymoon schedules it so that you arrive rested on the first evening.
