Why this trip
Lagoons, canals and small bridges: El Gouna on the Red Sea was planned as a holiday town, and that is exactly what makes the place easy to take in for couples who want beach, water and calm without crowds. Everything lies close together. The waterways run through the town, and boat trips and walks along the canal are part of daily life. The shallow, windy lagoons suit kitesurfing and snorkelling.
If you want to see water beneath you, book an excursion to the reefs off the coast. In the evening you sit in small restaurants by the water and look at the lights. The season runs from October to April. Hurghada lies right next door, and Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab and Luxor further away.
The flight takes about four to four and a half hours. With the visa, caution is called for, since it is required and should be checked in advance. Eight hotels are in the selection. As an addition, a side trip to Luxor with its temples is an option, combining the beach week with culture.
On a video call, Honeymoon will discuss with you how long the stay by the sea should be and whether an excursion into the Nile valley is part of it.
