Why this trip
From the acropolis of Lindos you look down on white cube-shaped houses and a bay that looks as if someone had shaped it for a photograph. The climb to the Temple of Athena Lindia does not take long and is worth doing in the morning, while the sun is still low. In May and June as well as in September and October it is warm here, but not oppressive. Below, Lindos Beach waits directly under the castle rock, and quieter alternatives are Mikros Gialos, Agia Agathi with its golden sand and the beach at Kallithea.
Elli Beach lies further north. In Navarone Bay and at the sea caves a boat takes you close to the rocks. If you choose dinner with a view of the sea, you will gladly stay seated until dusk. For overnight stays we recommend the Lindos Grand Resort & Spa, an adults-only hotel.
