Why this trip
An island you associate with a leap into the water: Zakynthos is popular with families because beach days and excursions alternate well. In May, June, September and October the temperatures are pleasant, and the sea is warm enough for children. Anyone looking for history will find it in the island's main town with its Venetian fortifications. The Grimani Bastion, the Bastione di St.
Marco and the Gunpowder Store are places where school-age children climb on walls and imagine pirates. The Rivellino Ambrosio Bembo is another testimony to the defences, and the Sotiras church gives the whole a calm note. Everything lies close together, so the distances stay short. Three places to stay are available, and a family room ensures that the children sleep well.
The flight time is around 2.5 to 3 hours, and Swiss travellers do not need a visa. Corfu and Athens lie in the neighbourhood and suit an extension. With Swiss Vibes you decide in the video call how many days at the beach and how many in the city suit your family, and take the youngest's nap into account.
