Why this trip
Twenty-five minutes by speedboat, and everyday life is far away: Baros lies in the North Malé Atoll and is a private resort island where you do not have to share beach, house reef or greenery. For couples who value privacy more than a programme, this is a fitting choice. The island has been named the most romantic in the Maldives several times. Lushly overgrown, with a famous house reef off the coast, it is suited to snorkelling with the family as well as to long beach walks.
There is no list of places here, because island and resort are a single destination. Prayer, meals and room choice are best discussed with the resort before booking, because on a private island there is no alternative place to go. On resort islands everything goes through the room bill, and cash is hardly needed. The best time runs from November to April, and a visa is issued on entry, for 30 days, free of charge.
Addu, Dhigurah, Kandolhu Island and Maafushi are the neighbours in the country. If you use the island for a honeymoon, you can round off the calm with an excursion to Malé.
