Day by day
Day 1: Day 1: Arrival and settling in. After landing, the Jardin Majorelle awaits with cobalt blue, cacti and bamboo. The garden is small enough for a relaxed stroll and large enough to shake off the stress of travel. Late in the afternoon back to the resort, prayer in the room and a light dinner with tagine.
Day 2: Day 2: Quiet day. The Jemaa el-Fnaa square changes its face daily. In the morning it is almost empty, in the evening the grill stalls smoke. Go early, when it is quiet, and return at dusk. La Pergola offers a terrace for breaks. The evening prayer coincides with the fall of darkness and makes for a good rhythm.
Day 3: Day 3: Day of discovery. A day of buildings. The Bahia Palace with cedar wood ceilings and zellige courtyards, the Koutoubia with its slender minaret as the orientation point of the whole city, the Medersa Ben Youssef as a scholars' school with quiet inner courtyards. Calls to prayer and market sounds mingle. Take water with you, as the paths between the stops are dusty.
Day 4: Day 4: City and cuisine. The Jardin Secret hides an Islamic garden with fountains and a café behind mud walls. Then El Badi, the palace without a roof, on whose walls storks nest. For lunch, a couscous dish, as it comes to the table on Fridays in Moroccan families. The afternoon is left for resting in the riad.
Day 5: Day 5: A day together. In the Souk Semmarine, fabrics, lamps and spices flow through narrow lanes. Whoever haggles has a story, whoever does not simply watches. In the afternoon the car drives to the Royal Golf Marrakech, an old course with a view of the Atlas. The children play at the pool, the adults go for a quiet round.
Day 6: Day 6: Culture and prayer breaks. Today two golf courses in the surrounding area: Amelkis and Noria, both with palms, water and plenty of space. Between the rounds there is room for the midday prayer. In the late afternoon back to the Jardin Majorelle, now in softer light, when the tour groups have gone. The blue of the walls is strongest in the evening.
Day 7: Day 7: Last day and departure. A last walk across the Jemaa el-Fnaa, in the morning, when juice sellers press their oranges. Fresh juice and msemen with honey make a simple breakfast. The morning prayer was still at the hotel, and now you stroll until the transfer to the airport pulls up. A plate of dates from the souk comes along in your hand luggage as travel provisions.
