A pink fringe runs along the shore: tens of thousands of flamingos stand in the shallows of Lake Nakuru, a soda lake in the Rift Valley. The park is small enough to be explored in a day, yet it still has rhinos, buffalo and Rothschild's giraffes. The main season runs from July to October.
