Why this trip
Venetian lanes, Greek bays and a touch of Britain: Corfu has seen many rulers in its history, and you can feel it in the old town of Corfu Town, with its tall houses and washing lines strung between the windows. For couples the island is especially pleasant in May and June or in September and October, when the beaches are less crowded. Begin in the old town with an evening stroll, past the Serbian Museum and the monument to Admiral Ushakov. If you are interested in literature, you will know Gerald Durrell and his descriptions of the island: you will find his villages and olive groves on a drive to the north.
In the west and north-west you will find bays such as Paleokastritsa, where you can devote a whole day to the water alone. From Corfu you can reach other destinations: Zakynthos, Athens or Mykonos, if you want to split the trip into several stages. The flight takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, and entry is visa-free within the Schengen area. How many nights you stay on the island is something you decide with Honeymoon on a video call.
