Why this trip

Davos lies higher than any other town in the Alps, and that is exactly what shapes the days in summer: clear air, a wide valley and many paths. From June to September the mountain railways are open, and the Parsenn with its broad slopes suits hikes at your own pace. The Schatzalp, reached by the mountain railway, offers a garden, a terrace and a special atmosphere that recalls the former sanatorium. With the Rinerhorn railway and the Schiferbahn further viewpoints can be reached without a long climb.

At the Davosersee a circular path is possible that suits walks well. Davos is large enough for cafés and museums, but quiet enough to spend days without a programme. Neighbours in the programme are Arosa, St. Moritz, Laax and Andermatt, which can be reached by train or road.

If you take your time, plan one day at altitude and one in the valley, and leave room in between for whatever arises spontaneously. The town offers plenty of space, and that is exactly what makes it suited to recovery, because days without a programme go unnoticed here.
