Why this trip
Pintxos bars in Bilbao stand so close together that a group does not even need to reserve a table: you move together from counter to counter. The Basque city is an insider tip for send-offs because culture and good food lie close together. The Guggenheim Museum with the giant flower dog Puppy in front is the first fixed point, the Zubizuri bridge by the river a second. In the Doña Casilda Iturrizar park the morning can wind down quietly.
The Itsasmuseum tells the seafaring history of the city, should the programme be able to take a block of culture. After the pintxos, a walk along the river is worthwhile, where the group sees the illuminated museum and lets the evening end comfortably. The Basque Country is green, and the hills around Bilbao suit short hikes. San Sebastián, Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia are nearby neighbours.
The flight takes around two hours, and the best time runs from April to June as well as September to October. In the video call, Bachelor Trips decides with you how much programme the group wants.
