Why this trip

The cathedral towers over everything, and below it begins a city that celebrates together: Cologne is known for its sociability, and strangers quickly chat with their neighbours here. For groups that is fertile ground. On the Alter Markt, the heart of the old town, brewery taverns and terraces line up, where the group finds room at long tables. At the Rheingarten you stroll along the water.

If you want a view, climb the KölnTriangle, and the Museum Ludwig as well as the aquarium give the day a break from the bustle. Handily, the main station and the cathedral are close together, so on arrival the group is immediately in the middle of things rather than travelling for long with luggage. Cologne is compact, much can be done on foot, and the Rhine brings a summer mood. From May to September the weather suits outdoor activities.

Hamburg, Stuttgart, Munich and Konstanz are neighbours by rail. If the group has carnival in February in mind, that is a different plan, which Bachelor Trips clarifies with you separately in a video call.
