Why this trip

The Jet d'Eau, shooting into the sky before the Alpine panorama, is the landmark of a city that is more cosmopolitan than its size. Between June and September the lake is warm, the quays are lively, and evenings stretch out long. Geneva is the seat of the UN and the Red Cross, and the international atmosphere shapes restaurants and shops. The old town rises high above the lake, with lanes in which antique dealers and cafés find room.

Watches and chocolate are tradition, and visits to manufacturers can be arranged privately. If you value discretion, choose houses on the lake with access to quiet and a private area. Verbier, Gstaad, Crans-Montana and Zermatt are neighbours that offer themselves as a connection into the mountains. The journey is short, the airport lies close to the city, and transfers are simple.

Geneva suits as the start of a journey to Valais or as a stay in its own right. The video call with Luxury clarifies whether you put city, lake or mountains first and what days without appointments can look like.
