Why this trip
A postcard village on a lake, wedged between rock and water: Hallstatt is small, and that is exactly the point. For a group that wants to spend the send-off in the mountains, it works as a day destination, not as a party spot. The Skywalk above Lake Hallstatt delivers the view you know from photos, and further viewpoints follow on short paths. At the market square and at the Alte Schmiede the group sits outside, and to the Hallstatt waterfall leads a walk that everyone in the group can manage.
On the lake, boats can be hired if the day is to be spent on the water. The lake stays beautiful even in rain, and a trip in the wooden boat is a calm finish for everyone who wants to end the day together. For longer evenings Salzburg is near, as are Kitzbühel, Mayrhofen or Saalbach. The best time for Hallstatt lies between May and October, and in summer the village is especially full.
When driving there, note that parking spaces are limited. Whether Hallstatt should be a day trip or more is decided by your group in a video call with Bachelor Trips.
