Car-free means here: everything happens on foot or by train. Zermatt lies at the foot of the Matterhorn, and the mountain railways such as Sunnegga, Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and Matterhorn Ski Paradise lead to high alpine levels from which hikes begin.
