Why this trip
Anyone who wants to link the send-off with an image nobody forgets ends up on Santorini: white houses on the crater rim, the sea below, the volcano behind. The island suits groups who would rather have one special evening than a long pub crawl. The destination of the day is Nea Kameni, the volcanic island in the caldera, which can be reached by boat and offers walkers an unusual activity. In Fira, the main town, the Archaeological Museum of Thera and the Santozeum are ready, if the group seeks a break from the sun.
The three-bell tower of Fira is a popular photo motif in front of which a group lines up. At sunset all eyes crowd the crater rim. May to June and September to October are ideal for the weather. The flight from Switzerland takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, and entry is visa-free (Schengen).
Naxos, Paros and Mykonos are possible as a continuation, if the weekend becomes a week. In a video call Bachelor Trips discusses which places should be reserved for the sunset.
