The Tramuntana is the reason hikers know Palma de Mallorca. The mountain range stretches along the north-west coast, with terraces, holm oaks and paths that are in part centuries old. From the city you reach it with the Ferrocarril de Sóller, the historic railway, and begin the route in the Sóller valley, with stages from a few hours to several days.
